Privacy and safety

Keep the handbook useful without collecting people.

This public site is designed as a static guide. It avoids accounts, comments, uploads, public contact forms, analytics, public visitor reports, and user-to-user features.

Simple position.

The site helps people read public information and prepare their own evidence. It does not ask visitors to send personal data to the site operator.

Data minimisation

What this site does not do.

No accounts or comments.

Visitors cannot register, post, message, upload files, or publish content for other visitors to see.

No public contact form.

The site does not invite visitors to send personal details to the site operator. Official complaint links go to the relevant bodies.

No cookies or analytics beacon.

The public pages do not set cookies, use localStorage, or load a public web analytics script.

No casework or sensitive evidence.

The site does not collect, triage, upload, publish, or store visitor evidence involving health, abuse, vulnerability, capacity, care, finances, crime, or family matters.

Bill checker

The bill checker stays in the browser.

Local-only guidance

The bill checker creates an action list in the page. It does not submit the entered bill amount, household size, or selections to this site.

Templates are static

The download templates are plain text. Visitors should edit them privately before sending anything to a water company, CCW, a regulator, or another official body.

ICO check

Privacy and cookie considerations.

01 No visitor submissions

The current public site does not collect visitor personal data through forms, accounts, comments, uploads, analytics, public reports, or public contact routes.

02 No optional tracking

The analytics beacon has been removed. If analytics, advertising, tracking, or contact features are added later, this page should be reviewed first.

03 Article 6 and Article 9

No visitor-submitted personal data or special category data is collected by this public site. Any future data-collecting feature needs a documented Article 6 basis, and any special category feature needs a separate Article 9 condition and safeguards before launch.

04 Third-party sites

External official links open on other websites. Their own privacy notices, cookie settings, and contact processes apply there.

Ofcom check

Online Safety Act scope.

01 No user-to-user feature

There are no posts, uploads, comments, profiles, private messages, or shared user content.

02 No search service

The site does not operate a search engine across multiple websites or databases.

03 No adult-content service

The site is a water-bill handbook and does not publish or display pornographic content.

04 Recheck before new features

Comments, uploads, public submissions, embedded third-party search, forums, or messaging would need a fresh safety review before launch.
